Britta Aguirre
Britta “Brit” Aguirre is a daughter of coal country running for Congress in West Virginia’s 1st District — because her people deserve better than broken promises and political games.
Born and raised in Logan County, Brit’s roots run deep in Appalachian soil — her ancestors fought and died in the Matewan Massacre, a defining moment in the fight for workers’ rights that still echoes across these mountains. She became a trauma-informed healer because she saw firsthand how much care her community needed after addiction, loss, and being left behind. She built her own wellness center, Transformations, from the ground up, spending her career in recovery centers, sitting with grieving families, and helping people heal through hard work, love, and purpose.
That lived experience drives her campaign. Brit is running on raising wages, protecting rights, expanding healthcare, growing mental health and addiction recovery services, saving public schools, and holding government accountable. She believes incumbent Carol Miller protected her own business interests while neighbors suffered through the opioid crisis — and that is not leadership.
Brit Aguirre has spent her life helping West Virginians heal. Now she’s ready to take that fight to Washington.
