Corinna Contreras
Corinna Contreras is a Vista City Council member, former Deputy Mayor, and lifelong Vista resident running for Congress in California’s 48th District. She made history in 2018 as the city’s first Latina and first LGBTQ+ council member — and has spent every year since delivering real results for her community.
On the Council, Corinna directed cannabis tax revenue to fund youth scholarships, launched a safe parking program for unhoused residents, brought on-demand microtransit to the city, and championed a resolution to protect immigrant rights. Her leadership has earned recognition including California Assembly Woman of the Year (2019), San Diego Democratic Party Legislator of the Year (2022), and San Diego County Bike Coalition Elected Official of the Year (2025).
Now she’s bringing that record to Washington. In Congress, Corinna will fight for universal healthcare, affordable housing, workers’ rights, and bold climate action — free from corporate influence. She accepts no corporate PAC or AIPAC money, because this campaign belongs to the people of CA-48.
