Diop Harris
Diop Harris is a Cereal City millennial who grew up in Southwest Michigan and came of age as Michigan communities were hit hard by job losses, plant closures, and the Great Recession.
Like many families across the Fourth District, he watched working people do everything right and still feel the ground shift beneath them. Diop is part of Michigan’s comeback generation — a cohort that saw the state lose jobs, lose people, and lose ground, and chose to step forward and help rebuild.
Inspired by his service under former Senator Sherrod Brown, Diop Harris is running for Congress to lower costs, stand up to big money, and deliver real results for working families across every mile of MI-04.
Diop knows folks here aren’t asking for politics as usual. They want strong local businesses, steady opportunity, and communities where the next generation can put down roots. That starts with responsible stewardship of our land and water — resources that sustain our farms, support our outdoor economy, and matter deeply to families and Tribal communities across this region. It also means ensuring people can participate in their communities, cast a ballot, and pursue opportunity without unnecessary barriers standing in their way. And looking ahead, we should build on Southwest Michigan’s proud tradition of innovation by standing with the workers and skilled tradespeople who keep this region moving.
