Wisconsin Courage Candidate Emily Berge WI-03

Emily Berge

Wisconsin
House
WI-03

Emily is running for Congress because the values she was raised with – compassion, integrity, and opportunity for all – are severely lacking in our federal elected officials. What solidified her decision to run, however, was being told by the Democratic establishment that they did not want a primary and that they already had their candidate. Emily is tired of the status quo and of decisions being made behind closed doors when they should be made by the people.

With eight years of experience in local government, including serving as the highest elected official in the largest city in the district, Emily has consistently shown up for her community. Whether introducing a public comment period for legislative meetings, organizing against right-wing extremism, or holding town hall meetings, she has prioritized community engagement and transparency. Emily first became politically active while organizing with Indivisible in 2017, and that grassroots organizing background continues to shape both her elected leadership and her campaign for Congress. She believes deeply that power belongs to the people.
