Erin Petrey
Erin Petrey was born in Lexington and raised on a farm in Lawrenceburg, with deep Kentucky roots stretching from Maysville to Hazard. A graduate of Fayette County Public Schools, she earned degrees from The George Washington University and the University of Kentucky’s Patterson School of Diplomacy.
Erin has spent her career fighting for opportunity and delivering results for people across the U.S. and around the world. She taught in a low-income public school in South Korea, managed diplomatic operations for foreign embassies in Washington, and led billion-dollar renewable energy, healthcare, and infrastructure portfolios that created good jobs across the South.
Erin is not a career politician. She is running for Congress to change a system that works for corporations and special interests — and make it work for the people instead. She is running to create jobs, expand access to affordable energy, strengthen public education, and protect the programs families depend on, like Medicaid and Social Security.
A lifelong community servant, Erin serves on the board of Bourbon Women and has volunteered with organizations including the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation and Habitat for Humanity. She is a progressive Democratic candidate for Congress in Kentucky’s 6th District.
