Jakeya Johnson
Jakeya Johnson is an advocate, policy strategist, and nonprofit leader dedicated to advancing equity, justice, and access to care. She is currently running for Congress in Maryland’s 4th District to bring people-centered leadership to Washington and ensure families, workers, and communities, not corporate donors or PACs, are at the center of our politics.
Johnson currently serves as Executive Director of Reproductive Justice Maryland, where she leads efforts to expand reproductive healthcare access, mobilize advocates, and advance policy solutions across the state. Under her leadership, the organization launched initiatives such as The Little Pink Pantry and the Safer Sex Kit Program, distributing thousands of essential reproductive health supplies to communities in need.
In addition to her nonprofit leadership, Johnson is also a legislative architect. She authored and successfully advocated for a landmark Maryland law requiring public four-year colleges to provide 24-hour access to emergency contraception, science-based sexual health resources, and comprehensive access to FDA-approved birth control and abortion services. Her advocacy has contributed to the passage of five major laws expanding and protecting reproductive healthcare access in Maryland.
Johnson holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Healthcare Management and a Master’s in Public Administration with a concentration in Public Policy.
