Jillian Gilchrest is a mom, social worker, educator, and advocate who has dedicated her life to listening to people and turning their voices into action. With deep roots in Connecticut and a career built around fighting for women, children, and working families, Jillian brings both compassion and conviction to public service.
Elected in 2018 after primarying a 23-year incumbent, Jillian has served four terms as the State Representative for West Hartford’s 18th District. She currently chairs the Human Services Committee and sits on the Appropriations, Public Health, and Judiciary Committees. Jillian has led efforts to expand paid family and medical leave, strengthen protections for reproductive healthcare, lower healthcare costs, and protect Medicaid coverage for Connecticut families.
Jillian is running for Congress to bring her proven, people-first approach to Washington. She believes that members of Congress should listen to their communities, not special interests — and then fight to deliver real results.
