Karen Ortiz
Karen Ortiz is a born and bred New Yorker, anti-Imperialist attorney, and former U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission Administrative Judge. She began her legal career working as assistant to famed criminal defense attorney Barry Slotnick and pivoted to public service upon graduating from law school.
Karen was one of the first federal workers to speak out against the Trump 2.0 regime’s illegal Executive Orders and directives. She was terminated after her whistleblowing and refusal to follow Trump’s anti-trans Executive Orders. Despite veiled threats from the administration, she continues to speak out in support of the LGBTQIA+ community.
In addition to being Pro-Impeachment, Karen’s priorities also include divesting from and sanctioning Israel, Medicare for All, codification of LGBTQIA+ rights, abolishing ICE, supporting our Veterans and creating pathways to new careers for those still in the military, divesting from fossil fuels, simplifying the Social Security disability process, and reforming the U.S. tax code. Karen believes that the government can and should do better by its own people and Impeachment is the first step.
