Morgan Coghill
Morgan Coghill grew up poor. He knows the lifeline that SNAP, free school lunches, and public education provide — because his family depended on them. After two bankruptcies driven by medical debt, he understands what’s at stake. He is one of us.
He graduated from college in 2001 and went on to study Russian in graduate school, skills he put to work as a USAID contractor in Russia and Ukraine. Witnessing the Ukrainian people’s fight against corruption in the 2004 Orange Revolution was his political awakening — a front-row seat to what happens when democracy starts to slide, and what becomes possible when people refuse to let it.
Morgan is running because he knows that the corporations and PACs buying our politicians are not our friends. As a small business owner, he understands what it means to compete against massive companies with unfair advantages. As a father, he knows that climate change, unchecked greed, and the rise of authoritarianism are fundamental threats to our children’s future. And as an American, he believes what this country was founded on: that Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness are not privileges — they are promises.
