Mussab Ali
Mussab Ali is a Democratic candidate and Courage Candidate challenging incumbent Rep. Robert Menendez Jr. in New Jersey’s 8th Congressional District primary on June 2, 2026. As a Courage Candidate, Ali has pledged to file articles of impeachment against President Donald Trump for tyranny, treason, and obstruction of justice on day one of his term. Running on an anti-corruption, anti-oligarchy platform, he rejects corporate PAC money and supports Medicare for All, abolishing ICE, taxing the wealthy, and ending the grip of concentrated wealth on government.
A Pakistani-American raised in Jersey City, Ali immigrated from Lahore at age three, the son of a postal worker and a public school teacher. Despite surviving a Stage 4 cancer diagnosis, he graduated from Harvard Law School and built a record of public service. In 2017, he became the youngest person ever elected to the Jersey City Board of Education, later serving as its president, where he remediated lead in school water fountains, raised teacher salaries, and secured full school funding for the district for the first time in a decade.
Ali’s campaign embodies the Courage for Democracy mission: action over empty statements, accountability over complicity.
