Rose Penelope Yee

As the co-founder of Green Retirement, one of the nation’s first Certified Public Benefit Corporations, Rose has decades of experience in values-driven finance, helping workers grow their savings through socially responsible investing. Her leadership has been recognized nationally. Rose was named a “Captain of the Industry” by the National Association of Plan Advisors, received the “B Economy Leadership Award,” and co-founded WeTheChange, a community of purpose-driven women leaders acting collectively as a force for good.

Locally, Rose serves as the Chair of the Shasta County Democratic Central Committee, where she authored and won unanimous approval for a resolution calling for an end to the genocide in Gaza, a permanent ceasefire, and recognition of the State of Palestine. In 2024, she was the California Democratic Party endorsed candidate in District 1 against Congressman Doug LaMalfa.

Rose was raised during the martial law era in the Philippines. She learned the power of grassroots democracy early on from my parents – her father was a human rights lawyer, and her mother was a journalist there. Her blend of business leadership experience, financial expertise, and community organizing efforts uniquely qualifies her to represent the North State.
