Shavonne Hedgepeth
Shavonne Hedgepeth is running for Congress in Maryland’s Fourth Congressional District because her community deserves a fighter who understands what’s at stake and knows how to plan around it, not just react to it. She has always believed that hope without hustle is just a wish, and hustle without hope is just exhaustion. Together, they’re how we win. Shavonne earned degrees from UMBC, UMD, and Cornell University, and spent years managing multi-billion-dollar capital planning at one of the largest transit systems in the country. She knows what it means to move resources, manage complexity, and deliver results for real people, and she knows that delivering results starts with an honest assessment of what’s been missing.
MD-04 is one of the most diverse districts in the country; 54.6% Black, home to the largest Latino community in Maryland, and a district where more than 1 in 5 working adults are federal employees. She is running as a challenger, not because the party asked her to, but because her community needs someone in that seat who sees them and who comes prepared to build.
With hope and hustle, together, we build what this district has always deserved.
