Shonique Williams
Shonique Williams is a civil rights leader, legal advocate, and Democratic candidate for Congress in California’s new 41st District. She is currently completing her final year of law school at Purdue Global Law School, with graduation anticipated in April 2026.
Shonique has spent years working at the intersection of community organizing, public policy, and legal advocacy, with a focus on justice, equity, and expanding opportunity for marginalized communities. Her leadership is shaped not only by professional experience, but also by lived experience. She has navigated foster care, homelessness, and wrongful incarceration as a survivor of domestic violence, challenges that reflect systemic failures faced by far too many Americans.
Rather than allowing these injustices to define her, Shonique transformed them into a lifelong commitment to public service. She understands firsthand how policy decisions affect real people, and she is running for Congress to bring informed and authentic representation to the federal level. Her campaign is rooted in affordability and sustainability for working Americans, with a commitment to protecting civil rights, strengthening social support systems, and holding the government accountable to the people it serves.
